A little shipping update 💛
Europe, we’re pressing pause. Not goodbye.
Boop It Design is a very small independent Swedish business, and recently, new EU packaging rules have changed the requirements for businesses selling products across European borders.

Under the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and country-specific EPR rules, businesses may need to register, report packaging materials and pay recycling fees in the countries where their customers are located. Exactly what is required can differ between countries, and some parts of the new system are still being clarified and implemented.

For a tiny business like ours, that can mean a surprisingly large amount of administration just to send a happy little notebook or sweatshirt across a border.

So, for now, we have made the difficult decision to pause shipping to the EU and focus on the US market.

This is a pause, not necessarily a permanent goodbye. 💛
The rules are still evolving, and proposals to simplify some of the requirements for small businesses are already being considered at EU level. We’ll be watching closely and hope there will be a practical way for small independent brands like Boop It Design to return to European customers in the future.
What about the US? 🇺🇸
Our shop is currently open to most US states.

While we review new packaging EPR requirements in a small number of states, shipping is temporarily unavailable to:

California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon and Washington.

We hope to reopen shipping to these states once we have a clearer picture of the new requirements and what they mean for a small business like ours.
